Winter & Cool Tones

Among the colors practiced by the street styles of the world, there are two shades that are unusually and consistently styled together: pale pink and grey – a stunning favourite of mine. The two team up to deliver an outfit that is minimalist, sleek, chic, and let’s not forget feminine. For this look I’ve evenly distributed the pink and grey and added some white to dilute the intensity of the mix. Many may challenge that these colors are a tad too light for winter weather, but I personally think cool tones in winter time are way too underrated :-).

Wide-leg Jeans Anyone?

If there is one denim style to try this season, it’s hands down the cropped wide-leg jeans. Wide-leg jeans feature a wide opening from your thighs and down. At a glance they may not look as hot and dainty as skinnys, but they are easily the epitome of casual chic. It takes a shape that is much more forgiving than tapered pants, you’ll especially love how straight and long your legs will look in them. I’m a big fan of matching anything wide-leg with fitted tops to create a flattering silhouette with top-down contrast. Who knew, that the iconic 70’s apparel would make such a strong come back. 8) Thanks for reading lovelies! ❤ Apologies for the poor image quality. The camera sensitivity had to be turned to very high because the shoot was the sunset hour.

Effortless Chic

No matter how effortless my outfits appear, the truth is I put effort into all my looks. So how to be stylish without looking like you’re trying too hard? Here’s some thoughts – Strike an overall balance – It’s never about JUST the clothes – the hair is important, the accessories are too, and certainly don’t forget about the makeup. These are the three things I consider before I assemble any looks (Fancy, effortless, or sloppy): Fancy – all 3 elements need to be on point, the bare basics include: no-frizz hair,  wrinkle free garments, and make-up that takes at least 10 minutes to put on Effortless – you can grab your everyday casual tee and match it with some comfortable boyfriend/mom/distressed jeans or whatever’s comfortable for you. But remember, you need good hair, straight or curled. And depending on how sassy you feel on that day, you can choose how much make-up you want (the more the sassier obviously). This is so that your vibe says: I’m definitely able to take good care of …

Back to Basics

I don’t know about you but I’ve certainly had enough of winter. Despite the positive elements of this season such as the aesthetically pleasing snow and fun winter sports, I find it limiting when it comes to fashion and blogging – often times I’m forced to choose between style and warmth (yes, my creativity runs out once in a while in trying to achieve the best of both worlds) and my blog posts have also been quite monochrome since this is a season with a lack of colour. But! Spring is around the corner, and here I bring you an outfit consisted of simple basics which can strike a powerful impression. Here I wore my white turtleneck sweater and tucked it inside a pair of bright blue jeans for a warm and eye-catching look, then threw on a collared cardigan blazer to add some professional vibe into the casual mix. I added a hat and some red lipstick to complete the look but those are totally optional. I also followed my “have no more than 3 colours in an outfit” rule religiously, as you can …

Denim Suspenders

Yep, back with another suspenders look 🙂 (And there will be more!) I’ll try not to bore you with all these suspenders but I just love love love them! 🙂 Suspenders are from Suzy Shier, at about $50. Suzy’s stuff is stylish but the quality isn’t the best – so I’d consider this a splurge actually. The tee is from Zara, it was only around $15! Loved the simple white Tee and loved the message on it – No one is perfect! I recently wrote about not letting perfect be the enemy of good, feel free to check it out here. Isn’t this the most adorable necklace? It’s an owl on a chain! If you aren’t a style blogger you may not appreciate how hard it is to find a nice setting to shoot! Luckily there is a beach nearby my place, surrounded by interesting buildings and parks. I was thrilled to have found this little corner 🙂 The shoes are also from Suzy’s! This was on sale, under $10! If you are into comfortable shoes, these are heavenly! …

Ripped Denim

I adore ripped jeans. I’m not saying the ripper the better, but there’s just something fab about them when wore “correctly” (meaning ripped to whatever degree that suits you). They are starting to become basics for my wardrobe. They can be paired with almost any top, shirt, sweater and it’ll look good! To me it adds an edgy and sexy touch to every outfit.  Depending on the feel you’re going for, pair them with high heels, flats or sneakers – it all works! I’m mostly into light colored denim, and among that category below are the 3 types I like: Long skinnys – this is classic, easy to match – sneakers, heels whatever you like. I don’t need to share how to wear this, I’m sure you already know 🙂 Loose and high cut – this requires confidence! it doesn’t accentuate figure or anything like that, but it is so stylish! – super “in” this season. Just wear heels if you feel like it enlarges the bottom! (But make sure it’s pumps! Wedges won’t work here) Shorts – OK, …

Phozzy

I developed a liking for fuzzy sweaters, I actually have it in 3 different colors: black, aqua, & baby pink. To go with the black sweater, there are several plausible choices – Blue Jeans, white jeans, or beige. I decided to pull out my white Armani jeans and I almost regretted the decision immediately – they make you look 10 pounds heavier! I wanted collars to dress up the outfit, but I didn’t want to wear a dress shirt inside because the sweater shouldn’t look any more bloated. So I threw on something like the below 🙂 It is thin with lovely collars. These shoes were from Aldo bought maybe 3 years back. It was one of my first pairs of ankle boots. It is leather quality, still in style to this day, and very comfortable. (Big fan of shoelaces btw) This cute little purse is from Kate Spade. It was from a shopping spree in Buffalo. It is very thin and small in size, perfect for a nightout. I bought them because they look like the Eiffel …

Suspenders Fashion

My first pair of overall denim suspenders! I’ve waited very long for this moment. I own a pair of shorts suspenders with leather straps, adorable but I have definitely grown out of it over the years. These pretties in front of you were $45 from Suzy Shier. In all honesty it was quite pricey because Suzy’s not exactly known for their quality. I was in a good mood when I made the purchase and good mood does wonders! ….Okay to be fair they are so comfortable and let me to do all kinds of wild movements in them! it did also fit me very well, which is very rare because I don’t easily find pants that are complementary to my figure, let alone suspenders! I threw on a crop top ($10 from F21, yep I’m all about deals) with these because the last thing you need in the summer is to hide all that’s left after already covering up your assets (I try to live a little outside work). I matched my outfit with these accessories. …
