Thigh High Boots

Lovelies! I know it’s been weeks since I blogged, but I’ve got some really good excuses – life has been keeping me ultra busy! I do have exciting updates to make up for it though 🙂 In the past 3 weeks, I vacationed to Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. I took lots of photos in LA so expect a series of outfit posts! I think I’m going to name it the “Val goes to Cali” series. I’ve also been occupied with paperwork…because I’ll be starting my a new job next week, who’s excited with me?! 🙂 Without deviating any further from the subject – here I have a recent favorite outfit to share featuring my newly purchased thigh-high boots! I’ve been a non-believer of thigh-highs for as long as I can remember, but this season I decided to give this trend a chance, annnnnnd I LOVE them! Whether in leather or suede, flat or platformed, these shoes are statement pieces that are surprisingly functional in cold weather. Pull them over skinny jeans/leggings, with an oversized sweater, or with a cute & …

#FlirtyFallFlatlay

It has been about fashion as much as it’s been about function, even for the intimates. There’s always been a classic beauty element associated with lingerie. Here I was invited by AdoreMe to create some flatlays with my favorite lingerie garments. After being introduced to the sexy lingerie styles at Adore Me (Instagram page) and their #flirtyfallflatlays, I’m here to share some of my own flat lays with my favorite lingerie garments. Instead of showing you what’s in my underwear drawer, I put together some summer/fall outfits with my lingerie pieces that I’d wear outside. Because after all, it’s more about how you wear in fashion, and less about what you wear. 1. Here’s a mint colored strapped bustier I wear in the bedroom to once in a while admire myself in 😉 Just kidding. It’s a great flirty alternative to a bra – it provides support, comfort, and more coverage. But don’t let these reasons stop you from being creative and take it outside of the bedroom! In another light, it’s a fancy lacey crop-top, so wear it with your favorite high-waisted shorts, accessorize with …

How I Wear My Tees

Happy Friday everyone! Here’s a quick OOTD showing you guys how I style my simple T-shirts! I followed the Adidas trend religiously last year, and I wanted to give the tees some love this summer as well. But really for this look, any T-shirts would do, even ones from the men’s section (like this one!). Most girls shy away from t-shirts because it’s difficult to achieve a flattering look with them. So here’s some tips for you guys to rock t-shirts on any given summer day. Or fall. Or winter. Or spring. Haha. Roll up the sleeves – I know, the sleeves are already short, but folding it up a couple times can turn up the cuteness and down the sloppiness (although I hope you can fold it better than me…I kind of failed here). In my case, since it’s a men’s t-shirt, the sleeves are extremely roomy, so doing so was necessary. Cut the hem – I always feared shirts with awkward lengths – too long to define my upper body, but too short to be a dress. So my solution would …

Spikes

I’ve never been a girly girl, I even had my tom boy phase in my teens. But growing up I’ve learned to embrace both masculine and feminine styles. Here I’m wearing a dress from F21, which could very well be worn as a top. I loved how simple it looked yet it still grabbed my attention. Although the top is cute, it’s still a bit plain, so I dressed it up by throwing up my good old fedora. Now, the shoes – I got these from Beyond The Rack a couple years back. They are super comfortable and adds a touch of edginess to my outfit. Since the get up is simple and relatively modest, the spikes really spice up the look and make it interesting. I knew fancy accessories won’t do with the outfit, so I  put on some hoop earrings, and a simple bracelet. For my purse, I went with a safe choice of brown faux leather. The color simply goes with everything, and works exceptionally well with outfits consisted of neutral colors. This was a really …

Denim Suspenders

Yep, back with another suspenders look 🙂 (And there will be more!) I’ll try not to bore you with all these suspenders but I just love love love them! 🙂 Suspenders are from Suzy Shier, at about $50. Suzy’s stuff is stylish but the quality isn’t the best – so I’d consider this a splurge actually. The tee is from Zara, it was only around $15! Loved the simple white Tee and loved the message on it – No one is perfect! I recently wrote about not letting perfect be the enemy of good, feel free to check it out here. Isn’t this the most adorable necklace? It’s an owl on a chain! If you aren’t a style blogger you may not appreciate how hard it is to find a nice setting to shoot! Luckily there is a beach nearby my place, surrounded by interesting buildings and parks. I was thrilled to have found this little corner 🙂 The shoes are also from Suzy’s! This was on sale, under $10! If you are into comfortable shoes, these are heavenly! …
