Boyfriend Denim Jacket

As a loyal blogger to the boyfriend jeans trend, I want you ladies to give a chance to the boyfriend denim jacket. If baggy and casual is what you love, then this over-sized, unapologetic piece is just what you need. This Light Mineral Washed Distressed Denim Jacket takes a wild spin on the timeless classic which all of us have in our closets – the denim jacket which we wear on top of a t-shirt on a lazy day, or with a maxi dress to tone it all down a little. I’m a fan of distressed anything so I may have gone overboard by pairing the jacket with distressed jeans but hey, fashion is freedom of expression 🙂

Boyfriend Jeans

The idea of any boyfriend fashion is that you can borrow styles from the opposite sex, which literally means stealing from your partner’s wardrobe 🙂 Why is it so popular? Simple – it’s trendy, it’s comfortable, and most importantly, it comes off as effortless. Being effortless isn’t just a style, it’s a statement, backed by an attitude. And looking good effortlessly is just sexy. Remember the hot fuss over getting into men’s dress-shirts and wear it like a dress? Well, boyfriend jeans is the new one from that family and it has been a favorite for many fashion industry insiders. I’d just provide two tips here in terms of styling boyfriend jeans, one is to always keep the top simple, and second is to roll up the cuffs at hems so you can bring attention to your lovely heels. ❤   What’s your favorite boyfriend piece? Bubble Midi

See I told you, I like to feel girly once in a while too. Having indulged so long in street style, I felt like I was going out of my way for this skirt. I’ve always been infatuated with midis, there’s something magical about being able to show off your calves without exposing the knees. Since the skirt hits right below the middle, it creates an illusion of a longer and slimmer body. If you’re ever self-conscious about your calves looking unappealingly big, know that it’s all by contrast and midis can be a trusty choice. My bubbly skirt is a pleated A-line – an all time favorite from me, it enhances the hourglass figure by accentuating the waist and flaring out the bottom, and is undeniably flattering on any girl 🙂 I matched my skirt with a fitted lace tube to add onto the feminine feel, and of course nothing speaks classy like gold and basic pearls for accessories. “Truth is, I’ll never know all there is to know about you just as you will never know all there is to know about me. Humans are by nature too complicated to …

Styling Adidas (Pt. II)

As mentioned in my previous post, I styled the same garments a little differently to bring about a different vibe! I un-tucked my tee and swapped the heels for these slippers to present you my stylish grocery shopping look….haha 🙂 I love everything about this outfit because I adore big loose tees, can’t stand wearing pants (they are just the most restricting thing), and not to mention my toes loved the freedom. Even in the absence of class and elegance, this is very much effortless chic and I love it as it suits me. One way to not look sloppy when wearing an oversized tee that’s clearly too big for you, is to fold up the sleeves 🙂 It’s all in the details! You’re awesome for checking out my post, have a nice day! ❤

Off The Shoulder

OK, everyone must know how much I adore suspenders by now – denim, long, short, leather straps, love’em all! (but maybe no clip-ons for me). This is a new one I purchased from Guess a while ago, I convinced myself that this was a must have because I don’t own suspenders in white… 🙂 Originally suspenders were worn because they were functional – fabric or leather straps worn over the shoulders to hold up pants. But gradually they were being worn for looks and have been diligently shifting in and out of fashion. I remember seeing old pictures of my mom wearing suspenders before my time, and me thinking that although cute, they were just WAY too yesterday and old fashioned. And look at me now… who could predict? 🙂 the runways possibly… In my previous looks I consistently wore Tees with my suspenders, this time I decided to change that up by going from preppy to flirty 😉 The other highlight has got to be the Zooshoo heels, I love how lengthy they make my legs look alongside the comfort and ease to walk in! 🙂

Vivre Montréal

As part of being Asian, I’ve visited many places with my family as tourists who do touristy things, such as: Wake up early so we have a whole day ahead of us to cover all those places mentioned on the internet Endless amount of photo taking only to look the same in every photo Everything is on schedule with lack of spontaneity Due to #1, we always sleep early, because we’re just way too cool for night life No souvenirs! Cuz you know, they are overpriced and are Made In China anyways It’s good to be organized while on vacation, but rules take the fun out of it! I’ve been to Montreal several times, but this time, I headed over to experience something else 🙂 What didn’t disappoint was definitely the fact that I could make my own schedule – visited places include landmarks (I tried Uber!), bars, downtown streets, steakhouse, icecream store and arcade! There are also so many cool places to take pictures at! Having heard a lot about people always looking fancy dandy over here in Montreal, I certainly wanted to impress, not …

Symmetric Allures

So… I found this lovely garment at H&M on sale, my god it was such a steal! ❤ As much as I love trendy items and looks, I absolutely adore unique pieces that aren’t commonly found on the streets. You’ve see long body-con dresses, but the fact that this one is loosely fitted actually makes all the difference. I did not over engineer my accessories with this one, just because I felt that the dress should get all the attention it deserves. I threw in the color brown for bracelet and bag since it nicely compliments the ensemble. I stuck with my golden strap sandals for this look because I just can’t get enough of them! 🙂 Rather than calling this a cotton maxi, it’s really more of an..ultra long shirt 🙂 Although it’s dark colored, it is thin, light and absorptive in material. So it’s fitting for those hot windy summer days!   On a side note I actually really enjoyed taking the shoot at this place! It’s behind a local high school, so it’s completely empty over the weekends! …

Let It Loose

I love dressing up to look refined and pretty 🙂 but even then I have my lazy days. This was one of those days! I wanted to wear simple, comfortable/loose clothing, and enjoy the nice weather in nothing but comfort. As much as I love to embrace natural and effortless looks, I’ll still never abandon style. Comfort and style definitely aren’t substitutes and are complementary when matched and accessorized correctly. The tee I’m wearing is shapeless and very thin in material, so I matched it with a tight fitting maxi skirt which provides a shape. The look overall is very lazy, but I stacked my boho bracelets to accessorize – they vary in size & patterns and look randomized, contributing to this “effortless” look, while embracing the boho feel. Hah, don’t you just love this “Be Pretty” message? As if it’s so easy 😛 I got this at the plus section of Forever21! I wear a small or XSmall most of the time, but I picked this up when I was looking for a long loose tee and going to the + section seemed like a good …

Hints of Gold – Part I

Hi lovelies 🙂 a couple weekends ago, Scarborough had amazing weather, and of course I took advantage of it and stopped by the nearby beach to do this shoot. I attempted a simple look, and tried to dress it up with hints of gold everywhere 🙂 The cute little dress is from Armani Exchange, can’t remember the price, but knowing I’m all about deals, it’s likely under $40. Now let’s talk accessories – Necklace – with a simple dress like this, I wanted to wear a busier looking necklace, so I decided on this layered strands of gold chains with pearls. Earrings – toned it down, very minimal. Should always avoid bold earrings and necklace at once so the neckline area doesn’t look unnecessarily busy. The ones I’m wearing here are small dangly black & white triangles with gold rims. Sunglasses – To go with the awesome weather, I wore these orange shades, with gold buckles on the side. Pouch – this was a super good deal from H&M! $15! The beautiful coral blue immediately caught my eye! Not to mention there’s a gold chain embedded to the …
